{"id":394,"date":"2014-04-11T12:32:03","date_gmt":"2014-04-11T12:32:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.avacon.org\/blog\/?p=394"},"modified":"2014-06-19T10:52:25","modified_gmt":"2014-06-19T10:52:25","slug":"virtual-worlds-best-practices-in-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.avacon.org\/blog\/2014\/04\/virtual-worlds-best-practices-in-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education: OpenSimulator&#8217;s Role in the Future of Virtual Worlds Research and Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AvaCon Executive Board members Joyce Bettencourt and Chris Collins were delighted to participate in a Keynote Panel at the <a href=\"http:\/\/vwbpe.org\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education 2014 conference<\/a> on Thursday, April 10, 2014. \u00c2\u00a0The topic of the panel was &#8220;OpenSimulator&#8217;s Role in the Future of Virtual Worlds Research and Education&#8221;, and the discussion focused on OpenSim\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s education community and AvaCon\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s contributions to education and research, especially in regards to how the OpenSimulator Community Conference has been a powerful tool for this advancement.<\/p>\n<p>Despite some technical challenges, the panel discussion included a variety of questions about the future of OpenSimulator and how it can be used in education.
