It also has an optional facility (the\u00c2\u00a0<a title=\"Hypergrid\" href=\"http:\/\/opensimulator.org\/wiki\/Hypergrid\">Hypergrid<\/a>) to allow users to visit other OpenSimulator installations across the web from an account on a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchome\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 OpenSimulator installation.<\/p>\n<p>OpenSimulator allows virtual world developers to customize their worlds using the technologies they feel work best \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the framework is designed to be easily extensible. OpenSimulator is written in\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecma-international.org\/publications\/standards\/Ecma-334.htm\" rel=\"nofollow\">C#<\/a>, running both on Windows over the\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/net\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">.NET Framework<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and on Unix-like machines over the\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mono-project.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Mono<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0framework.
